Yummy Peanut Butter Cookies
Hi Everyone!
We bake at least 3 times a week here. It started out as a set bakers day, but soon became just a part of our week. We make everything from Scones to Apple Pie and we like to make our own bread most days. The kids decide if they feel like baking or not. Both of them are usually thrilled.
I’m always happy to have them bake with me as I know it helps with their maths and reading skills. I love incorporating practical homeschooling techniques into our everyday life. When I was little, I was brought up by my Grandparents, my Grandmother taught me how to bake and cook. But if I wanted to help in the kitchen I was always told…”I can’t concentrate with you in here! So no not today!”
I don’t ever want my children to not feel welcome in their own kitchen. And I never make a “lesson” out of baking. It just happens and I watch them using their maths and reading skills. I love it!
Anyway, I just had to share this recipe with you all. It’s a traditional Peanut Butter Biscuit Recipe! You know the one with the criss cross pattern on the top? We usually make these once a week or so. Not only do they taste yummy, but they’re packed with protein, so a biscuit or 2 for morning tea between lessons, means that the little ones can keep going without stopping all the time for snacks.
Hope you enjoy making and eating them as much as we do.
Blessings,
Sue
