STJOHNS GRADE 1 WORK
Well, StJohn is storming ahead, he turned 6 on the 2 of January. He had his party, a pirate cake and was thrilled with it. I was exhausted and ordered it, I honestly just could not do it this year : (
He’s been doing numbers and letters since last year, but has really picked up speed this year. I’m struggling to keep up with him. He’s devouring worksheets, he can add and subtract up to 10 with ease, and recognises every letter that he’s been introduced to. We’ve got a few left and then we’ll start joining them up to make words. (Still using the Waldorf method with him) I really love Grade 1. All the fiction and imagination. Sad it only lasts for a short while. But there is a season for everything and each moment needs enjoying. (hey, I keep telling myself this but I still find each thing we finish I feel not only satisfaction at his progress, but a sadness, that it won’t be done again. He’s my baby, you see.)
Blessings, and enjoy every moment, they pass so quickly.
Susan
PS. I read a blog post the other day, Mom, with teenagers and I found it inspirational. She said she’d given anything for one of her kids to climb onto her lap and ask her to read Thomas the Tank Engine for the umpteenth time. But that time is past. I vowed right there and then to stop being impatient and enjoy every second. Heavens I am depressing today, my apologies!
