THE LIFE CYCLE OF THE BUTTERFLY

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share our lesson with you. We did the Life Cycle of the butterfly, which I posted about last week. One thing I didn’t show you was the butterfly mobile we made.

Instead of just drawing each stage of the life cycle, and it being spring and all. We made a mobile with 4 sticks as the frame, held together with handspun merino wool, and then hung the various stages of the butterfly on it. In the right order.

It worked for us, for the following reasons:

1. It’s spring when life begins again.
2. Using all natural products we got back into touch with nature at this time of year.
3. The mobile spins around in the breeze, bring to mind the cycle of life. From butterfly to egg to larva to pupa and back to butterfly, over and over, around we go.

Have a look at it, it’s not the greatest pic. The light in Joburg has me stumped when it comes to taking pics!

Enjoy the rest of your day, the kids have finished their break (riding their bikes outside) and we’re going to be doing StJohns letters and Juliettes cursive writing.

Blessings and have a beautiful week.

Susan
