First Homeschool Post

Good Morning everyone. As you can see this is my first post, so I’ll tell you how I’ll be doing it from now on. I’m using this Blog as a personal journal, documenting our Homeschool Journey. For me Homeschooling isn’t just about the schoolwork being done at home. It’s the entire homeschool lifestyle. From the school work we’re doing, to how we manage our time, how our household is run (or not run!).

As of yesterday I’ve stopped writing in my “paper journal book”. The reason for this is I’m hoping that other families that are thinking of Homeschooling their children will be able to follow our day to day routines, experiences, ups and downs. And by so doing, HOPEFULLY they’ll be inspired to take that first huge step. Committing to Homeschooling their kids. I want to share our life with you. It’s really easy to see the Pros and Cons of Homeschooling by following our Blog. I’ll be posting at least once a day.

If I can make a difference in just 1 child’s life by having his/her Mom homeschool. Then all the work has been worth it! I passionately believe in Homeschooling. We didn’t take this decision lightly. I’m not a Homeschool Mom that’s only Homeschooled. My kids went to a Waldorf School, Juliette for 2 1/2 years and StJohn for 6 months. So in this way, I’ve experienced both sides of education firsthand, not just through reading about it.

I’m also going to be discussing a few subjects that appear to be seriously touchy, but that I feel for the sake of our children need to be aired. Remember at all times, that this is our personal journal, so what you’ll read are our opinions. I want to hear your opinion on things as well. What are your concerns? What do you want to know about or share with others? Post your comments!

I’ll be posting our first day to day journal entry tonight, once my kids are in bed. In this way, I get to concentrate and not lose precious time with them. Anyway that’s it for now. They’re ready for me to start our main lesson. We’re doing a bean biology experiment first thing. Got to go! Have a fantastic day filled with love! Pop in tomorrow to see how our day went. It’s looking good so far, but it could go downhill fast. Weird thing is Juliette insisted on boiled Pasta for breakfast. Peculiar? I’d say. With love, Susan.xx
