Homeschool Curriculum Review

Hi Everyone, I know it’s Sunday night, and there was no school today, but I just wanted to let you know what’s been happening with us….

John is nearly finished the book he’s writing, totally unrelated to Homeschooling, but looking good. It’s about Internet Marketing basically, and even I can understand it. I’m not so good with computer stuff usually so if I can understand it then he’s a brilliant teacher! Good luck with your launch John!xx

Jules is in bed with Flu, John had it last week, and started feeling better last night for the first time in 7 days. Anyway, we’ve been playing boardgames while she’s in bed, and reading stories. I guess there’ll be no school for the poor girl tomorrow. Maybe a quick craft project? I’ll see how she feels.

StJohn is all ready to continue learning his letters, as usual he’s healthy and happy. Nothing gets to him, he’s quite amazing.

I’m feeling so Homesick today. I just want to go home to Cape Town! Back to my support system, friends, sea, mountains, wind and rain.

But back to the reason for the Post in the first place. I’ve been getting a stack of emails from families that are either looking at new curriculums or who are not sure whether Homeschooling is for them. I’ve put together a new page REVIEWING HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUMS that I’m familiar with and feel comfortable referring. If you’re using a differnet curriculum, then please let me know, susan@ourhomeschooljourney.co.za and I’ll do a review and pop it on the site. Remember the more we share the easier our Journey becomes.

There are also links to books that I’ve found have helped me immensely on my Homeschool Journey. Especially right at the beginning, when you feel less than confident and honestly, a good bit scared!

I hope it helps all of you as well. Within the next 2 days, I’ll be putting up the review of a Waldorf Curriculum and a Christian Homeschool Curriculum, and (I can’t promise!) there may be a free Waldorf Kindergarten Curriculum! The reviews are all done, it’s just a matter of putting them on a webpage….

Well, that’s what we’ve done this weekend, we’ve been pretty housebound with John and then Jules being sick.

I hope your week to come is filled with joy, happiness and many unexpected blessings

Love Susan
