WALDORF GRADE 1 LETTERS
Hi Everyone,
Today was an odd one, I woke up with a cracker of a head ache. John’s in bed with flu, StJohn wasn’t feeling well. But we still all wanted to Homeschool! Weird! Anyway, StJohn continued his Grade 1 letters, still K. Today I told him the story about King Kyle again, he wrote his K’s with his finger in cocoa powder and 100’s and 1000’s. (Okay he ate a lot of it but that was the point!) Using all his senses to get the letter K into his head and heart. His sense of taste was hard at work today!
It will become a part of him. This Grade 1 stage is so important, is the foundation for all to come. And it’s the greatest fun. I love teaching new things.
He then drew a picture of King Kyle again, because he wanted to and that was that end of day for him. Oh and he also made all different sized playdough K’s again.
I cannot stress enough the importance of using a practical homeschool technique with whatever curriculum you’re using! It works! I promise.
Blessings
Susan
