Our Pocket Baby Knitted Gnome
Hello Everyone
The past few days here have been freezing and raining, so perfect knitting weather! We’ve been preparing for our new curriculum, by gathering books, resources and making gnomes. I love gnomes, so do the kids of course. You can see the little gnome I knitted for Juliette. It’s pocket size, which really appeals to her. She loves to gather goodies and carry them wherever we go in her pockets. So the Gnome-In-My-Pocket, as she calls it, is perfect for her.
You can see him, sitting in our Lavender Bush, in the few hours of sunshine we had yesterday morning. It felt warm for a short time, and gave us an inkling of spring.
We’ll be adding the Pocket Gnomes and a new range of Temperament Gnomes to our shop shortly.
They’re handmade of pure wool, and if we can get it then it’s handspun! They’re then stuffed with wool, and a little pocket of organic lavender is popped into the middle of their tummies. (If you give them a squeeze you get a wonderful lavender smell. Juliette and StJohn sleep with them on their pillows at night.) Then finally we pop a tiny bell inside the gnomes hat, so that it cannot be chewed off by the littlies!
I look forward to presenting them to all of you. We all love toys that are totally made from natural materials. These gnomes don’t have a single thing that is man made inside them. (Even the bell is metal, not plastic!)
Thanks for visiting I’m off to carry on knitting, and I plan to bake a lemon meringue later this morning. I don’t really feel like baking but I know the kids will love it for tea this afternoon.
Many blessings to you all.
Sue
